Francois Gadenne, co-founder, chairman, and executive director, Retirement Income Industry Association (RIIA), has been actively engaged for more than 30 years in leading teams that build technology solutions for the financial industry. Mr. Gadenne’s background combines a history of entrepreneurship, staff and line experience at financial service organizations, and corporate strategy consulting. Prior to serving RIIA, he co-founded Retirement Engineering, Inc., where he developed protected designs for insurance and investment products that solve retirement income issues for millions of “baby boomers” reaching retirement. He also co-founded Rational Investors, an independent provider of “Internet-based, mass-customized investment advice for 401(k) plans. He later sold this company to Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and realized the full earn-out for his investors. His work in the financial services sector includes experience at S&P’s Retirement Services Group and Bank of Boston, including The Private Bank, where he directed the bank’s entry into the mutual funds business and the development/implementation of The Private Bank's Relationship Workstation, the Wizard, a data warehouse and client-server application used by all professionals of The Private Bank to sell and service leads, prospects and clients. A graduate of the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris, he earned an MBA, J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
